Polyvinylchlorid (PVC) ist aus Monomer Vinylchlorid (VCM) polymerisiert und wird wegen seiner biologischen und chemischen Beständigkeit und Verarbeitbarkeit für Bau-, Kanalisations- und andere Rohranwendungen verwendet. Es ist effektiver als herkömmliche Materialien wie Kupfer, Eisen oder Holz in Rohr- und Profilanwendungen.
PVC-Rohre sind in einer Reihe von Branchen weit verbreitet, von privaten Sanitär-Anlagen bis zu komplexen Wasseraufbereitungssystemen. Aufgrund der Materialeigenschaften von UPVC/CPVC-Rohren sind sie als thermobeständige Struktur, feuerhemmende Gewebe und als hochwertiger Wasserschlauch in vielen Bauanwendungen sehr wertvoll. UPVC/CPVC Rohre sind den meisten anderen modernen Materialien aufgrund der Umweltfreundlichkeit chemische Beständigkeit, inhärente Zähigkeit, Hitzebeständigkeit überlegen und elektrisch nicht leitfähig/nicht korrosiv
Die maximale Betriebstemperatur von UPVC-Rohren beträgt 60ºC, und sie werden normalerweise unter 45ºC verwendet.  Sie werden für die Wasserversorgung, Landwirtschaft Bewässerungssystem und Rohre für die Klimaanlage angewendet.
